Stories by Alon - Edition 4

Today's newsletter is meant to be an edition of My Story, where I left off in 1997 however I thought it would be good to update you, my very special clients. To each and everyone of you who has bought a piece of jewellery from me at my Cape Town store in the Watershed I thank you. The Watershed is 100% reliant on international tourism, and will probably be closed until international flights resume to South Africa. Our border may be closed for 18-24 months!

Most of us in business have had to constantly reinvent ourselves. However, none of us were prepared for this.  You have helped me make the transition from the good old fashioned retail store to my online store.

Thank you for reading my newsletters. Thank you to all of you have taken the time to reply and an extra thank you to those of you that have bought a piece of my work  during the past 4 months. You have helped keep my team busy, motivated and most importantly hopeful. We know this time has been tough for everyone, and we send out our heartfelt sympathies to any clients who have been sick or lost loved ones to Covid-19.

Paula has been running around from the setter to the couriers, (during some horrific storms )!  Pritesh our incredible goldsmith has been able to continue to create some beautiful pieces. Mona, Pritesh’s wife has been beading and treating the team to the most delicious, traditional Indian food and Tabita has been sorting through our stock and modelling too.

Raya our dearest friend has been working tirelessly with my wife Toni, to get our store online.  Raya is our art director, photographer, sometimes- hand model and is solely responsible for our social media campaigns.  Without her we would be in the dark!  Please feel free to give us any feedback - if something on the website isn’t working- the currency converter, or the discount codes, or the chat box annoys you, we would love your feedback.

One love, Alon -

P.S: If you have a gemstone that you would like to know more about, or design a piece together with me, I would be happy to work with you."
