How to store your jewellery properly....

Having a beautiful collection of high-end jewellery pieces can be a great source of pride, so it is vital that you store and manage the wellbeing of these sentimental items so they last for your future generations. Your jewellery should be stored in a dry clean place, avoiding direct sunlight. Fabric lined jewellery boxes are the way to go, usually in velvet or a soft texture; this kind of storage helps avoid scratches. You can also individually wrap your pieces in tissue paper if your box is not soft lined. Often when you purchase high-end pieces you will get a box or pouch, those are a great way to keep order.
Boxes with multiple compartments and sections are best, as you will be able to keep rings together and necklaces from tangling. It is also very important to consider the type of metals you have. Gold is soft and can easily get scratched, so one should contemplate keeping their gold pieces in the soft cloth bags they came in, or invest in a few small pouches. Silver tarnishes quickly if exposed to air so one should keep their pieces in tarnish-proof bags and sealed inside an airtight container. Also remember to keep your silver away from any rubber, the sulphur compound can ruin your gleaming jewellery.
For the pieces you wear daily, a small fabric lined tray is a great idea. When you come home you can remove them and lay them out ready for the next day. We recommend storing your high-end pieces (not worn regularly) in a safe and keep a record for insurance/ for yourself to know what you have.
We hope this gives you some inspiration to sort and organise your collections! Have a great weekend ahead.
